$1.2 million guaranteed in the first PokerStars New Jersey Championship of Online Poker

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – September 26, 2016 – PokerStars is launching the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker this October with $1.2 million in guaranteed prize money. The online series, which will be played on, will be the richest online series ever held in New Jersey, PokerStars, an Amaya Inc. (Nasdaq: AYA; TSX: AYA) brand announced today. NJCOOP will take place from October 15-31 featuring 43 events with entry fees ranging from $15 to $1,000.

The New Jersey Championship of Online Poker will kick off ahead of the first ever PokerStars Festival New Jersey, creating three amazing weeks of top end poker action and further demonstrating PokerStars’ commitment to growing poker in the Garden State. Players of all levels are invited to pitch up and join in the fun, live and online, with plenty of action, tournaments and big prizes on offer.

The 16-day online schedule features a wide range of tournaments to suit players of all bankrolls. The highlight of the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker is the $200,000 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, which will have a $500 buy-in and take place over two days (October 30-31). Daily online qualifiers to all the NJCOOP events are now running on, with satellite tournaments through to larger tournaments starting from just $1. The schedule also includes a $1,000 NL Hold’em High Roller event on Tuesday, October 10 that has a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000.

PokerStars NJCOOP players can also compete for leader board prizes, with points awarded on a sliding scale for cashing in events. The most consistently successful players will be rewarded for their achievements with up to $10,000 in prizes to be given away.
