Snooker legends put their skills to the test pre-championship with special poker tournament
ONCHAN, Isle of Man – March 14, 2017 – Online sports betting site BetStars, an Amaya Inc. (Nasdaq: AYA; TSX: AYA) brand, is sponsoring seven-time snooker World Champion Stephen Hendry as he takes on fellow snooker legends and qualifiers in the Super Star Online World Seniors Championship snooker tournament. The winner will pocket £10,000 and a wildcard entry into the World Snooker Championship at The Crucible next month.
BetStars is sponsoring Hendry at the World Seniors Championship, which takes place from March 22 to March 24 at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe, and will give snooker enthusiasts the chance to bet on his performance in the tournament against seven other snooker legends, including Dennis Taylor, Cliff Thorburn, and John Parrott. BetStars has priced Hendry at 5/2* to win the Championship, 6/4 to make four or more century breaks, 12/1 to not lose a frame during the tournament, and at 33/1 to make the maximum 147 break.
In addition to this, a poker evening will be held after the black-tie launch dinner on March 21 where guests will be able to put their poker skills to the test against the ‘King of the Crucible’ and the other snooker legends in the hope of winning some unique prizes.

The seven-time snooker World Champion is a keen poker player having played against poker enthusiasts from around the world, most recently in the Main Event at PokerStars Festival London in January. He also showcased his poker prowess by winning the media event at the festival beating a host of journalists and PokerStars Team Pros Felipe Ramos, Liv Boeree and Jake Cody. BetStars placed special odds on Hendry to win the Main Event at the Festival, to finish in the final 10 players, and make it to Day Two of the Main Event.
