POKERSTARS UNLEASHES NEW MULTI-TABLE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Refreshed schedule means there’s always something for everyone
ONCHAN, Isle of Man – April 22, 2016 – The multi-table tournament schedule will be updated and enhanced from Monday, April 25 on PokerStars, an Amaya Inc. (Nasdaq: AYA; TSX: AYA) brand. The exciting new schedule will make it easier for customers to find and play their favourite tournaments. The hallmarks of the new schedule are better timing, instantly identifiable ‘major’ tourneys, and, best of all – something for everyone, 24 hours a day.
The new tournament schedule is anchored by a bigger and more conveniently-timed daily ‘major’ tournament offering. A ‘major’ tournament will take place at 05:00, 14:00, and 19:00 ET every day, providing delightfully predictable round-the-clock excitement for players in the Far East/Central Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
The majors occur three times per day, and there’s at least one Big, Hot, Bounty Builder, or Omania tournament every hour. Between the big headline tournaments, there is a strong selection of all the niche tournament formats that only PokerStars can offer in conjunction with large prize pools: games such as Phase, n-stack, Zoom, Ante-Up, shootouts, and more.
The size of a player’s bankroll doesn’t matter, either – every Major has a ‘mini’ version at 1/10th the price, and Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays have a ‘micro’ version at 1/100th the price of the Major. The Bigs, Hots, Bounty Builders and Omania will feature new buy-in levels – both higher and lower than before. Regardless of a player’s budget, PokerStars will have an exciting tournament, starting at a convenient time, for all players.
With a tournament schedule as comprehensive and diverse as PokerStars’, locating a particular tournament might have been perceived as a challenge in the past. With the updated schedule, that will no longer be the case. Majors are bold blue, the daily recurring tournament series, such as the Bigs and Hots, are bold red, and the rest is black.
HOURLY BIGS, TURBOS AND BOUNTY BUILDERS
The key changes include running PokerStars players’ favourite branded tournaments, the ‘Daily Bigs’, the ‘Hot Turbos’ and the ‘Bounty Builders’ hourly. Four additional micro-stakes versions of each brand will be available daily during peak time. They will be highlighted in the lobby in red and will run at defined times:
MORE MAJOR TOURNAMENTS ON WEEKDAYS
More major tournaments will run every weekday, and will be highlighted in the PokerStars lobby in bold blue text. They will run at the following times:
|Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)||Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)||British Summer Time (BST)||Central European Summer Time (CEST)|
Of particular interest to many is a change to PokerStars’ flagship Sunday Million tournament, the start time for which is changing from 14:30 to 14:00 ET. Also starting earlier is the world’s best-attended weekly tournament, the Sunday Storm, which shifts from 13:30 ET to 13:00 ET. These changes are part of an enhanced weekend tournament offering, with more big events on Saturdays and Sundays to build upon the popular Sunday Million, Kickoff, Warm-Up, and Storm tournaments.
