The role: Test Manager

Why we need you:
As Test Manager, you will be responsible for a group of test engineers of various levels of experience and will have up to 6 direct reports. You will report into our Head of Test and QA, and work alongside other Test Managers who you will collaborate with on a regular basis. You will be responsible for both people management of your team, as well as driving quality, ensuring we deliver high quality solutions. You should be a confident technical leader, championing quality with experience in an evolving and dynamic web-scale environment under an agile DevOps ethos, where operational performance is a significant part of engineering best practice.
The role requires experience of working in an agile IT development model ensuring quality is embedded as early as possible (shift left). You will have broad experience with multiple technologies and platforms within highly transactional domains. Experience of testing web, native and mobile applications across multiple geolocations and languages is needed for this global project.
As Test Manager, you will have knowledge of all the different facets of test coverage; including unit testing, component, functional, usability, accessibility, performance, capacity, security, integration testing, compatibility, localisation and internationalisation etc.
Other experience will include:
- Experience of using automation tools and frameworks
- Experience of managing and reporting on test progress across a programme of releases including the management of any issues and risks
- Experience of working across multiple teams with complex integrations
- Experience of collating QA test governance metrics and using this data to drive subsequent improvements to the QA processes
- Strong stakeholder management skills demonstrating business engagement up to senior management levels
- Experience in leading testing professionals with a track record of motivating and inspiring them
- Previous line management experience
- Technical experience and knowledge of various technologies and frameworks
- Atlassian product set including JIRA and Confluence
You will be part of the team who will build the next generation of sportsbook to support international growth. Working within our bespoke framework to create performant, immersive sports betting experiences. Integrate with our real-time data feeds to give customers the most relevant and up-to-date information around their bets. Leverage content management and configuration tools to provide non-technical colleagues with applications to effectively manage sports betting products across many different territories.
Who are we looking for:
You will have an established background in testing, having risen from a hands-on technical tester to become a strong leader. Leading test engineers in an evolving and dynamic environment, ideally in online betting & gaming or similar web/mobile-scale industry where software is always-on, and customer experience is always more than a consideration.
You’ll also need a proven ability to take and influence technical decisions in a fast-moving commercial environment. You’ll be a committed team player who demonstrates exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and consistent high energy levels, who recognises the importance of people in technology solutions. You are also an analytic problem solver with a strong sense of autonomy, but with an open collaborative approach to getting the job done.
You will have a proven track record in getting it right first time, on time and every time. You will be able to demonstrate how you deliver quality for our products and platforms.
