Software Developer - Poker

We are looking for a software developer to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Richmond Hill, Toronto service office.

Why we need you: -

As part of the Poker Web Development team, you will be responsible for building interactive web and mobile games as well as both administration and client facing applications in a variety of different technologies. The team currently supports a number of highly available, feature rich, performant applications used by millions of players per month.

This is a key development role requiring strong technical and communications skills. You will work as part of an agile team and with colleagues from across the greater organisation.

The squad consists of both frontend and middle tier skill sets. Technologies, frameworks and repositories used within the teams supported product list are:

AngularJS to latest Angular, REACT, Typescript, Webpack, NodeJS, Cocos2d-js, JAVA Spring, Apache, Jenkins, GIT, JIRA and Confluence.

You will work with other developers, designers and product managers, as well as on your own, to develop high quality code that drives the front end of multi-player games and other products. You will partner with different teams to improve the customer experience through UI interactions. You`ll have deep understanding of the technical constrains and feasibility of implementing concept design

You will be part of an agile team that works on the development of modern web products. You will remain current on industry standards and trends in web development across multiple browsers and platforms.

You have minimum 3 years of relevant experience. You have deep knowledge of web-based technologies (Angular, React, Typescript, CSS) and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions. You can demonstrate a high proficiency in using web testing frameworks: Cucumber, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, Chai.

You have experience in game development using HTML5 and JavaScript and be highly skilled at front-end engineering to build large-scale applications in an enterprise environment. You will be translating designs and style guides provided by the UI/UX team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance.

You have experience working as part of a team using source control - git. You understand of the production process and the ability to communicate effectively with other disciplines. You are able to work independently as well as part of a team, taking responsibility to organize and deliver work as part of the production schedule within set deadlines. You are comfortable providing and receiving constructive criticism participating in code-review process. You have experience working with the Atlassian product stack in an Agile development environment an advantage.

As the ideal candidate, you will have: -

You have a degree in computer science, or equivalent. You have deep understanding of user interface interaction design. You have broad knowledge of web development frameworks: AngularJS through Angular 4, React, Redux, VueJS. You have experience with project management and delivering complex projects successfully. You are familiar with the online poker industry and community and you have passion for video games. It`ll be an advantage if you have experience in other game development disciplines: product, design, sound, art, or engineering.
