The role: Senior Financial Analyst - External Reporting
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst - External Reporting to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Toronto Office.
Why we need you:
You will work directly with your manager to assist with the external reporting process and related activities to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial information to external stakeholders, including interim and annual financial statements, MD&As, earnings press releases and other regulatory filings.
You’ll prepare public disclosure documents such as the interim and annual Financial Statements, Management Discussion & Analysis, Earnings Press releases, provide financial input for preparation of Annual Information Forms, Management Information Circulars, legal entity financial statements, Audit Committee presentations, and other ad hoc materials. You’ll also coordinate filing of Continuous disclosure documents on SEDAR and EDGAR.
We’ll be looking for you to perform quality checks of disclosure filings and investor documents, prepare good quality working papers for internal reviews and external auditors as required (FS supporting schedules, disclosure checklists etc.) You’ll coordinate annual goodwill impairment assessments and prepare share-based compensation schedules as well as debt and derivative accounting schedules (including hedge accounting). You’ll prepare covenant calculations to meet debt compliance requirements and prepare lender reporting packages and focus on the preparation of legal entity financial statements for tax compliance. You’ll have involvement in system implementations as well as in drafting drafting accounting policy memorandums/position papers, review accounting policies adopted upon acquisition and ensure subsidiaries compliant with IFRS standards. We’ll look for you to keep abreast of IFRS and other regulatory changes on a quarterly basis to ensure disclosure materials prepared reflect the latest standards and regulations. You’ll build strong, positive and influential relationships with external auditors and other stakeholders (ie, Segments and other corporate groups).
Who are we looking for:
Ideally, you’ll have post-secondary education in finance/accounting, with the CPA, CA Designation.
You’ll have worked in a Big 4 firm and most likely moved onto a large corporate publicly listed company that is highly matrixed.
You’ll have an ability to work in a highly dynamic fast-paced environment and be able to meet tight deadlines. You’ll have strong knowledge of financial accounting processes, policies and systems and a strong sense of ethics and a team player.
We’re looking for someone to have a willingness to learn and contribute in improving current processes.
Ideally you’ll have experience in building strong relationships with global finance teams and stakeholders.
