The role: Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Consolidations

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Consolidations to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Toronto Office.

Why we need you:

You will be responsible for preparing consolidation journal entries as well as consolidating financial results from various business units. You’ll prepare consolidated financial results including liaising with various business united globally to understand the financial results of the respective business segments. You will prepare analytical reviews of consolidated business results, investigating and explaining all significant variances, historical trends etc.

You’ll support processes to ensure data integrity and play an active role in the ongoing documentation and testing of internal controls processes relevant to financial reporting to meet SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements. You will design/prepare reports as necessary to gather relevant information to support the external reporting team in preparation of financial statements and not disclosures, MD&A (management discussion and analysis), and investor relations documents.

You will also assist with the implementation of any new systems as well as ad hoc requests including financial analysis, reporting and special projects. You will build strong, positive and influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will have a degree in finance or accounting with the ability to work well in highly dynamic faced paced environment meeting tight deadlines. You’ll have strong knowledge of financial accounting processes, policies, systems and complex consolidations.

You’ll have and excellent work ethic, be dedicated, driven, accountable and enthusiastic. You will have a process improvement mindset with strong attention to detail, as well as, excellent communication and analytical skills. You will have experience using Microsoft Office products, such as Excel and PowerPoint.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

Experience working in a large publicly listed company with global reach. You’ll be comfortable working on multiple entities within a group structure (consolidating those accounts and understanding a highly complex and matrixed organisation).  You’ll most likely have exposure to various FX/currencies and you’ll have been absorbing information at a publicly listed company level, looking to improve and change processes where possible to meet the highest level of efficiency possible. You’ll be someone who thrives on making change and thinking deeply about improving processes / taking the initiative to get things done the best way possible.
