The role: Senior Data Product Manager

We are looking for a Senior Data Product Manager to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Isle of Man Office.

Why we need you: -

The Business Intelligence department at The Stars Group is responsible delivering value to the organisation through data and analytics.  We are looking for you to help us take our analytics to the next level in the area of business events.

You will work with various teams within the groups’ business to gather and organise requirements for the capture and delivery of low-latency business events.  You’ll investigate, understand and translate business needs and problems and create clear specifications for development teams, with the input and direction from product owners and product analyst.

Delivery of low-latency business events will underpin the next generation of product analysis, customer relationship management and product personalisation.  You will have strong coordination and communication skills as business requirements will need to be obtained from multiple stakeholders and relayed to the respective technical development teams.

You will have previous experience of product development in the online industry and an in-depth knowledge of business events and/or behavioural analytics.  Specifically, you will understand behavioural analytics from a conceptual and implementational perspective. You will have experience integrating behavioural analytics, such as Google Analytics, in mobile, desktop and web applications.

In addition, in your role, you can expect to:

  • Drive the integration of business events across poker, casino and sports products and web, mobile desktop platforms
  • Work with Product Managers, Product Analysts and Data Scientists as a central point of contact for business events
  • Ensure requirements from product and analytics owners are captured and delivered in a coordinated, consistent and cohesive way
  • Own central configuration of business events, captured across all platforms/brands/verticals
  • Ensure the data integrity of business events delivered to the organisation, working to resolve upstream/downstream issues and change requests
  • Work closely with the tech organisation to ensure delivery of Business events meet stakeholder requirements

Who are we looking for:

You’ll be someone who ha a degree in the quantitative areas (STEM) or a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience. We’ll look for you to have experience or a sound knowledge of product development in one of the following areas online gaming, social gaming, web e-commerce.

You’ll also be taking projects from concept through completion, so a track record of this is important. You’ll need practical experience with data and analysis tools and to be comfortable/experienced in working with large and/or complex data sets.

You can expect to work in  fast-paced environment, where we need you to deliver high quality work under pressure of deadlines. You’ll be a self-starter and comfortable with minimal management from above. Ideally, be able to showcase examples of this in your CV history.

You’ll need to demonstrate excellent people management, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills too.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

It would be beneficial if you have an advanced degree or a PHD in a relevant field. Alternatively, it’s also useful if you have previous experience in the online gaming industry (but it is not essential!).

If you have knowledge of the online Poker / Casino / Sportsbook industries that is a plus, given our product line.

Ideally you’ll have advanced knowledge of Google Analytics or equivalent and have exposure to end to end project lifecycles. We use Agile methodology here, so an understanding and experience of this is a big plus.
