Project Manager - Poker

We are looking for a seasoned project manager to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Richmond Hill, Toronto Office.

Why we need you: -

You will be playing a key part in expanding Stars Group’s poker business as well as working on various cross-functional integration and enhancements projects. Your main areas of responsibility will include planning and coordination of project delivery between business units and technical teams. You will own and manage team’s workload, plan and organize product backlogs, work closely with various business and technical stakeholders on prioritization, capacity planning and client deployments.

You will efficiently define project goals, scope and deliverables, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. You will also create detailed project plans, which identify and sequence all activities needed for successful project completion, including resources and timelines.

In addition, you will also play a role of Release Manager, focusing on detailed planning of product rollouts, coordination with other technical teams and ensuring that hand-offs between teams are smooth and problem free.

Who are we looking for: -

You have vast experience as a Project Manager in a large volume development environment. You have hands-on experience with both native (desktop, mobile) and web based applications as well as relevant experience with getting such applications to market. You have been involved in all aspects of software development – from ideation and scoping to testing, integration, deployment and post-deployment support.

Experience in the role of a project or release manager with a focus on customer facing client-server applications is important as is hands on with managing complex projects in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, including solid understanding of pros and cons between the two. You’ll also have experience with producing business process and technical integration diagrams to describe project scope and highlight complexities.

You’ll be maintaining comprehensive project documentation and provide regular and timely progress reports to management. You can work collaboratively with geographically distributed teams and also interact and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

You have very strong ability in written and oral communication – able to get your points across to both business stakeholders and technical leads. You are a problem solver; able to multi-task on several projects simultaneously as well as being someone who can find resolutions to conflict easily.  

As the ideal candidate, you will have: -

Hands-on experience in software development or business systems analysis would be a benefit as is experience with Win/Mac/iOS/Android native client development and deployment. Experience with a rollout of brand new software products to consumer market will be a great asset.

If you have experience in poker, casino, sportsbook or video game development that is a great bonus, though not a necessity.
