The role: Media & Market Development Manager - Canada

We are looking for a Media & Market Development Manager to join our MMD team, based in our Leeds office.

Why we need you:

We need a media expert to provide local expertise and insights into the important Canadian markets for market insights and opportunities, media strategy and buying and market development projects. Our Media and Market Development team, supports the Group’s three main product verticals with proposed local marketing plans, including advising them on local media buying. We need to be competitive so it’s imperative that we secure access to the most effective and cost-efficient ad space.

As part of the role, you will be responsible for liaising with local media companies, presenting the Group’s media strategy and plans to all verticals. You will maintain positive relationships with local media agencies and will be responsible for building and handling relationships with local suppliers such as advisors, sports teams, poker associations etc. You will monitor the budget allocated by the brands and find opportunities to increase or save budget. You will recommend TV slots for placing AFPs and identify and report on new TV formats and TV opportunities. Your role will be to report internally on the local media market. You will also be responsible for TV campaign analysis, pre/post return on investment and dynamic learning and reporting the results and help to identify market opportunities, as well as reporting on market analysis including tracking on competitors’ activity.

You will take responsibility for providing our verticals with market insights in terms of target behaviours, language differences, market trends, advertising trends, industry relations etc. Identifying potential co-branding opportunities and providing regular ongoing communication with the Business Development team on market progress and opportunities. You will also help monitor market and industry developments and monitor localization of products and communications.

Who are we looking for:

You will proactively look for new marketing and business opportunities, as well as providing actionable feedback to the product verticals on how to improve and adapt products and promotional offerings to be suitable for Canadian countries.

Previous media and campaign management experience is required. Sportsbook and Poker marketing experience is a plus. You should be a strong team player with the ability to foster good working relationships. You will need to be proficient in preparing reports and competitor analysis. You should be well organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise various projects with excellent social skills when dealing with third party agencies and media owners. Knowledge of or an interest in online poker, casino and sportsbook is needed.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

French language skills are a plus.
