The role: HR Compliance Partner

Why we need you:-

This role is to work with the compliance manager to design policies and procedures to ensure we are compliant in terms of legal, regulatory and ER best practice requirements across the globe.  Key areas include supporting successful achievement of HR function in SOX/COSO audits, continuing implementation and review of the GDPR compliance.  Monitoring changes in the law and regulatory rules affecting our organisation from a people perspective and designing policies and practices to ensure we remain compliant in all these areas.   You will also own the background checking framework, providing a continuing review of the provision and consistent and effective application across the globe.

You’ll have ownership of employee relations logs and presentation of stats and you will review and improve case review tracking and reporting – Code of Business Conduct (COBC) violations, litigation.   You will maintain local reporting into global Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) tracker with periodic reviews of cases to check for consistent application of policy and thorough processes being followed, as well as identifying any improvements to these processes.

In addition to ensuring the policies and practices we have in place are SOX/COSO compliant, you will be supporting auditing activities – supporting manager on control log reviews and collation of information from across the entire HR function when requested and converted into a workable and GDPR compliant format for our internal and external auditors.  

You will contribute to ongoing compliance with the GDPR – continuing with implementation and ongoing periodic reviews of our practices to ensure we remain compliant with our published policies and the regulations.

You’ll also have the opportunity for involvement in other projects including developing and delivering training on the above areas.  Dependent on the skills and experience you have and where you want to develop, there is lots going on that you can get involved in.

Who are we looking for: -

A background in functions as broad as tax, HR, audit or law will likely be most applicable and provide the skills and experience required for this role.  Maybe you have held HR generalist roles or worked in internal audit, or you are a disillusioned lawyer.  The key thing is an interest in interpreting legal and regulatory requirements in employment and data protection regs and the ER side of HR and its application across the globe. 

You’ll be effective and experienced in cross functional collaboration, virtual team working and leveraging colleague support is key to the compliance function’s success.  You’ll need to be a relationship builder, influencer, decision maker, sounding board and enforcer.

We need someone who enjoys interpreting sometimes complex information to be able to apply to the workplace in pragmatic and commercial fashion.

As the ideal candidate, you will have: -

A basic understanding of employment law in the UK, Europe or Americas would be good.  Even without, a genuine interest in gaining this knowledge will be a plus point.

Most important is having an analytical mind, attention to detail and ability to problem solve…   Enjoy problem solving!  And a sense of humour.  Be able to cope with ever changing priorities, meet deadlines and deal with high volume workload while delivering high quality, accurate work. 

Being great at Excel will make up for your manager’s deficiencies.
