We are looking for a Group Data Protection Officer to join our busy and dynamic Legal team in our Isle of Man office.
Why we need you:
- Strategic responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the ongoing development and implementation of the Data Protection Policies and procedures, reporting to the Board appointed Compliance Committee on the robustness of the Programme and leading the relationships and consultative initiatives with data protection and consumer protection authorities externally.
- Operationally, this role will include, but not be limited to; administration of the company’s registration with appropriate Data Commissioners, maintenance of the data mapping / data universe records and ensuring that Data Subject Access request obligations are met.
Who are we looking for:
You will have a strong commercial background in the application of data protection law, regulations and practice (GDPR / DPA 2018 and PECR requirements) with significant experience in a similar role in industry.
You’ll hold a practitioner certificate in data protection or equivalent / relevant GDPR or legal qualification, with extensive knowledge and expertise in the implementation and embedding of Global privacy laws including GDPR.
You’ll have experience in leading relationships with government authorities, be team oriented with the ability to explain, influence and direct various levels of stakeholders within the organisation.
