Job Purpose

The Stars Group, the world’s biggest publicly listed online gambling company, is looking for a talented graduate to join our dynamic Business Intelligence Team. The successful graduate will assist on a variety of analytical projects across the business, gaining experience in data mining, data science, business analysis and applied statistics. Our Business Intelligence team provides a challenging, enjoyable environment within a collaborative team of dedicated and professional analysts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in analysis of marketing promotions, could include areas such as TV acquisition, CRM, Customer Onboarding etc.
  • Assist in data extraction & manipulation from our Data warehouse (exposure to SQL / MicroStrategy will be gained), manipulation of large volume of data in order to establish actionable insights/models and deliver recommendations
  • Application of data to areas such as campaign analysis, ROI, and A/B testing & predictive modelling
  • Application of data to areas such as Pricing optimisation and Loyalty Program optimisation
  • Application of statistical techniques to interpret data (exposure to KNIME will be gained)
  • Application of machine learning and statistical models to building predictive models (Churn, Cross/Up Sell, Recommendation Engines.)
  • Provide support on ad-hoc requests  
Skills and Capabilities
  • Degree in the quantitative areas (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science)
  • A-Level (or equivalent) in Mathematics at C-grade or above
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • The ability to think logically and question anomalies
  • Ability to deliver high quality work under pressure of deadlines
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and results to non-technical business people, both written and orally
  • A passionate, results orientated, team player  
  • Knowledge of the online gaming industry
  • Practical experience with statistical tools (SPSS, SAS, R, KNIME, other)
  • Proficiency in extracting and manipulating large datasets using SQL / MicroStrategy (or similar)
  • Experience in data mining / advanced analytics (clustering, regression, predictive models or similar)
The Process

We know as a graduate you will be keen to understand when your expected hire and start date will be. After you apply we will aim to get back to you within 14 days. If you meet the criteria you will be invited to complete a Data Analytics based test, followed by a final stage interview.

The salary for this job is competitive for the graduate market, so whilst we are not able to go into detail at this stage, we can say that we offer great salary packages and also like to throw in a discretionary annual performance bonus. In addition, we can provide advice and dedicated relocation allowance and assistance for your move to the Isle of Man.
