The role: Gaming Regulatory Reporting Business Analyst

We are looking for a Gaming Regulatory Reporting Business Analyst to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Malta Office.

Why we need you:

In the last few years, the landscape for the Stars Group operations has gradually moved into markets that get regulated. In addition, we see new verticals for the Group along with new products within the verticals, which overall complete the move from a one-product-one-territory (.com) into many complex elements that make our world.

One of the key areas in the move to regulated markets is automated regulatory reporting.  This serves the regulators need for control, supervision, monitoring and revenue/tax calculations.

In this role you will help translate regulatory reporting requirements and business guidelines into functional specifications and business rules, to make sure we achieve accurate regulatory reporting with reasonable development efforts and to the satisfaction of the regulators.

You’ll perform analysis of information received from regulators (technical specifications, change requests, issues raised) and be able to clearly understand how our system should be enhanced/modified for complying with those. You’ll use provided guidelines and analysis conclusions for writing detailed business specifications, which once reviewed and approved are fed into development teams for implementation.

We’ll look for you to work closely with the development teams during requirements review and implementation phases, ensuring complete and accurate implementation as per the requirements, and promptly addressing questions raised.

You can expect to engage with other Stars Group teams and stakeholders (Casino, Sportsbook, Poker, Finance, Tax, Loyalty & Bonusing…) for getting required information and for ensuring regulatory reports correctly reflect the system. We’ll also look for you to proactively contribute to ideas for process improvements.

Who are we looking for:

You most likely have worked in a BA function previously for a large publicly listed company, or similar. You’ll need to be someone who is educated to degree level in computer science or another technology related discipline or you will need to be able to demonstrate technical experience in your CV, such that you showcase working comfortably with developers and data analysts.

You’ll need to have a strong grasp and understanding of offering, products, systems and tools. You’ll be someone who is detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.

In your previous work, you can clearly show us at CV and interview stage that you have exposure to needing to write clear technical requirements documents.

In terms of personality, you’ll be someone who has a desire to fully understand the things they work on, you will not willing to compromise on partial understanding. You’ll also have a strong ability to manage and prioritise high volumes of responsibilities autonomously without delays in deliverables and work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

Familiarity with XML / XSD, as well as some programming experience. In addition, Product Management experience is a real plus.
