We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Austin office.

Why we need you:

You will be an IT specialist on our team who will collaborate with software developers, operations, QA analysts and other IT staff by automating and streamlining the integration and code deployment process. 

You will support the building, configuration and maintenance of tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations. In addition, you would help assess new technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, automating the daily activities with SaltStack. 

You will need to resolve issues in our Dev, QA/UAT and Production environments for our sports entertainment and i-gaming products.

Who are we looking for:

You will have extensive working experience in an integrated IT infrastructure role with a strong background in Linux and Cloud administration with a focus on developing and deploying web applications. Open source technologies are something you are passionate about and you have used a wide variety of such tools. You'll have experience with Amazon AWS environment and have built application architecture and organizational services within it. You will have worked with VMware virtualized environments, mostly server virtualization and software-defined networking. You’ll have experience in service architecture and understand how to integrate your knowledge with the development team. You were involved in planning deployments and improvements to CI/CD pipelines and have strong experience with Docker and container management. Some of your experience is focused on coding and scripting (mostly Python, Java, and Bash). You are familiar with Apache and Nginx web servers. Also, you have some experience in networking and monitoring tools. We are working with Atlassian products (Crowd, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket Server, Bamboo, HipChat) so experience with that would be a benefit. 

We try to follow the best methodologies and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service. Our environment is Agile so it`ll be good if you have worked in such teams. You are a self-starter with the ability to make progress with minimal supervision. On this position, you`ll have to show your good diplomacy skills and the ability to liaise with technical and business people. You are able to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. As a team, we are results oriented and rely on good communication to achieve success.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

You have experience or at least exposure to the following technologies:
SQL in general and PostgreSQL, MySQL specifically (NoSQL experience, such as Cassandra, Redis and MongoDB is a plus). Along with:

  • AWS Experience
  • Linux development toolchain (i.e. rpm, yum)
  • Automation/configuration management using either Salt, Puppet, Chef, Ansible or an equivalent
  • Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, ELK stack, New Relic and others
  • Strong knowledge of Jenkins structure (Experience with Job DSL and Pipeline DSL a plus)
  • Git and versioning software
  • TSDB (InfluxDB, Prometheus) and ElasticSearch
  • Build systems (Apache Maven, SBT) and common build patterns
  • Experience with Java or Lua a plus
  • Experience with Terraform and Packer a plus
  • Amazon IAM identity management tools
