The role: Department Head of Services - GSTP
We are looking for a Department Head of Services - to join our busy and dynamic leadership team for our Group Sports and Trading Platform department based in Leeds and working with teams across North America and Europe.

Being part of The Stars Group Global Sports and Trading Platform (GSTP) leadership team this role is about leading service management across BetStars, the trading systems we provide to SkyBetting & Gaming and launching FOX Bet in the US. You will lead a team of Service Lifecycle Managers to deliver:
Business Strategy - Work with the leadership team across GSTP to help develop and implement our business strategy ensuring service is at the heart of everything we do.
People Leadership - Lead and build a team to implement the Service Strategy across the Department.
Best in Class - Lead our teams to deliver the best in class services for our customers across the globe.
Service Transition – Your team will be responsible for the management of activities to ensure that applications/systems being developed meet all operational requirements before getting introduced to the Production environment.
Incident Management – You’ll be responsible for in-flight incident management including out of hours (on an on-call rota). This will involve appropriate communication of the problem to both engineering teams and senior management and co-ordinating in-house teams and 3rd parties to resolve.
Change Management - Works with Engineering to ensure appropriate change management occurs in a high-frequency release agile environment. This includes responsibilities such as assessing and validation of changes and acting as a representative for change management in the tribes.
Reduce Risk - In addition to incidents that have occurred, you’ll be responsible for managing the risk of both re-occurrence and known weaknesses that haven’t hit us yet.
Ensure we understand our position - Make sure we capture the data needed and present it to the leadership team and engineering teams, so the state of our service can be understood and compliment the service strategy
3rd Party Management - During the design and implementation of new services and throughout the service lifecycle, you will take responsibility for analysing and coordinating relationships with key stakeholders and third-party suppliers to ensure the successful delivery.
Cross-Group Service Management - Coordinate with other departments across The Stars Group such as Poker, Account Management and Casino to coordinate the Service strategy and share best practices.
Compliance - Work with Legal and compliance teams to ensure that our service meets the regulatory demands of the territories we operate in.
Who are we looking for:
You’ll have experience in leading Service teams in an evolving and dynamic environment, ideally in online betting & gaming or similar web/mobile-scale industry where software is always-on, and customer experience is always more than a consideration.
You will have a reputation for thought leadership, strategic thinking and come with a strong service background. You’ll also need a proven ability to take and influence technical decisions in a fast-moving commercial environment. You’ll be a committed team player who demonstrates exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and consistent high energy levels, who recognises the importance of people in technology solutions. You are also an analytic problem solver with a strong sense of autonomy, but with an open collaborative approach to getting the job done.
