The role: Department Head of Product

We are looking for a Department Head of Product to join our busy and fast-growing Sports Development team based in our Leeds service office.

Why we need you: -

As Department Head Of Product, you will report to the Director of Product, Group Sports and Trading Platforms, this role will be responsible for overseeing the Product Roadmap across the Group Trading Tribe including key product capabilities such as Sportsbook, Platform, Pricing, and 3rd Party Feed Integrations.

Based in Sofia with travel required to the other offices - Leeds and Dublin, you will play a fundamental role in the future development and success of BetStars and SkyBet. Working with a variety of internal and external partners and our development team in Sofia you will be responsible for helping to create Products that build both our strategic Group Trading Solution and tactical business targets.

Acting as the interface between the delivery squads, other Product Teams, and our stakeholders, you will be responsible for the elicitation and communication of business requirements at every level; ultimately breaking features down into backlog items that engineers understand and can build. You will use data to drive your decisions and in doing so prioritize the relevant product backlogs to create first-class products and maximize value to the business.

Who are we looking for: -

You`ll manage the Group Trading Tribe roadmap across the business, coordinating with other tribe and working with internal stakeholders, including senior management across technology, marketing, research, commercial and trading to ensure we maximize the return on our technology investment. You`ll collaborate with and lead your Tribe to set the vision and roadmap, aligning everyone behind a common goal, to motivate and energize behind that vision; building a shared understanding of the product with the team. You`ll share the reasoning behind your decisions with appropriate stakeholders, define and communicate the priority for delivery.

You will oversee the full end-to-end management of all aspects of the group trading product to deliver first class trading applications, easy to use interfaces and revenues for the business. You`ll ensure we act proactively and reactively to customer feedback building better product. You`ll define clear & unambiguous functional and non-functional business requirements, business processes and/or user journeys, and communicate these as appropriate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.

You`ll use commercial, insight and research functions to identify the features with the most customer and business value to find new improvement opportunities and to prioritize the backlog. Initiate research programmes that identify and help us understand how we best serve the needs of our customers in our product. You`ll build relationships with other Product Managers across the business to understand how your areas of focus impact or depend on other roadmaps and subsequently get those opportunities scheduled on their roadmaps. You`ll maintain an appropriate level of understanding of relevant systems and business processes. You`ll build and maintain a good working relationship with colleagues in Operational and Technology functions.

You`ll work without boundaries to ensure your product area delivers best-in-class features rapidly, to a high-quality and sustainably. You`ll review/measure/assess delivered solutions to ensure fitness for purpose. You`ll explore opportunities to improve the effectiveness of delivery; making recommendations and changes in process as appropriate. You`ll perform ad-hoc analysis of operational data to discover opportunities and fix problems.

You`ll facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings with business stakeholders and their delegates to capture and document the existing business process and desired changes, using standard process modeling techniques. You have excellent working knowledge and experience of managing end-to-end delivery; from concept to cash, ensuring frequent, successful and well-coordinated releases to users.

As the ideal candidate, you will have: -

You are an individual of potential, with relevant product delivery experience in a consumer-facing digital or e-commerce environment. If you have previous experience in Sports betting would be interesting but definitely not a requirement.

You have product management experience within a lean/agile development methodology. You have a deep understanding of customer interactions and user journeys on transactional digital products and demonstrating a passion for continually improving customer experience. You have an analytical and inquisitive mindset with the ability to translate business cases and analysis into tangible outcomes.

You have the ability to maintain a good balance between short-term delivery and longer-term planning. You are naturally collaborative and with a desire to be part of a highly successful team rather than just a highly successful individual. You maintain high levels of commitment and enthusiasm. You have a keen interest in and knowledge of the latest technology and media trends, in particular, an interest in mobile based products. You are highly organized and self-motivated, with a desire to see a job through to conclusion. You have superb communication skills, both verbal and written and comfortable operating at all levels of an organization. A demonstrable passion for Sport would be advantageous.
