The role: Department Head of Design Studio

We are looking for a Department Head of Design Studio to join our creative team in our Leeds service office.

Why we need you: -

We are an internal design team that work with various internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality design solutions to the business. The roles core purpose is to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Design Studio, manage the Design Managers and promote collaboration on projects between the design teams. The studio consists of a Sports, Casino and Poker team, as well as teams focused on Animation, Events/Print – all of which have a degree of overlap and support with one another.

You’ll take a proactive approach and act as a key point of contact for stakeholders to discuss their requirements and offer creative solutions to give the business greater flexibility. Create strong lines of communication and build strong relationships with Stakeholders, Delivery, Strategy and Creative Teams.

Through supporting the Design Managers in their roles, you’ll ensure they have the best tools, training and opportunities for their career progression and supply continual support, guidance and communication of an ever-evolving brand.

You will keep abreast of all upcoming design projects – in order to plan, manage and share resource across studio teams. Provide creative and project oversight of work requests into the studio ensuring timely, consistent and on-brand creative work for all verticals/brands.  You will manage large campaigns (at top level) to encourage collaboration, help manage resource and provide consistency of creative and review and continual improvement of design related processes and procedures. You will manage the fluctuations of studio resource needs, balancing in-house headcount vs freelance/external design resource.

Analysing briefs and providing feedback and design quality assurance, whilst overseeing the planning and communication of studio workload, in collaboration with the Senior Traffic Manager. You will support our design team in their roles to ensure they have the best tools, training and opportunities for career progression. Supporting the Director of Group Marketing Services, by taking part in longer term planning of resourcing, process and budgetary requirements to match business requirements.

Who are we looking for: -

We are looking for a highly experienced individual with a proven track record in design and resourcing. You will need extensive team management experience with excellent problem-solving abilities. You’ll need a thorough understanding of online digital production methods and a demonstrable understanding of online digital advertising methods.

You will be a naturally hands-on individual with experience of working within strong brand guidelines. You should have a relevant degree/ diploma in design or equivalent combination of education / experience.  You’ll need strong typographic skills with knowledge of Adobe CS5 software on Mac platforms and a demonstratable understanding of animation and 3D design. You should be used to working in a fast-paced environment within established processes.

As the ideal candidate, you will have: -

Knowledge or interest of Poker and Sports Betting industry and experience in Mobile.
