 Job purpose

This is a department head position responsible for helping to develop and enhance our quantitative solutions to support the sportsbook company vertical. The position will be based in the Dublin office. The department head will assume responsibility for all recruitment of quantitative analysts and software developers within their team, mentoring and training team members. In addition, working closely with stakeholders and cross functional teams it will play a pivotal role to help develop requirements aligned to the strategy, overseeing delivery, and ensuring business readiness of new product release. They will combine business perspective with strong understanding of technology to help deliver a data-led strategy and roadmap to enhance the sportsbook technical infrastructure, with focus on quantitative and algorithmic solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • The recruitment and management of the sportsbook solutions team in all locations globally
  • Research, define, recommend, and implement data-driven solutions to support the sportsbook vertical
  • Translate business needs and strategy into high level requirements for new to market features and drive incremental delivery of these features in conjunction with the wider delivery teams
  • Working closely with other departments including but not limited to trading, product, marketing, and external providers to make sure that BetStars is offering the best and most comprehensive product possible

Skills and capabilities
essential:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative area, e.g. maths, physics, computer science.
  • Strong relevant experience gained in the development of quantitative solutions, predictive modelling, and technical design.
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management capability across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in defining business requirements in the context of software and application development from a customer viewpoint
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive change and collaborate effectively with a variety of individuals and teams
  • First class interpersonal skills with the ability to foster relationships with peers and senior management

Desirable:

  • Experience in the sports betting industry
  • Advanced degree

The salary for this job is based on experience, so whilst we are not able to go into detail at this stage, we can say that we offer great salary packages and also like to throw in a discretionary annual performance bonus.
