The role: Department Head, Global Talent & Celebrity Partnerships

We are looking for a Department Head, Global Talent & Celebrity Partnerships to join our Group Marketing Commercial team, based in our Leeds service office.

Why we need you:

You will be responsible for identifying, and managing the relationships for Global Partnerships for the Stars Group. Your role is to establish partnerships that will enable the Stars Group to access new audiences, opening-up new customer segments and bringing innovative products, services and content to our customers serving all Stars Group brands and product verticals.

Whilst initial focus will be on handling the UFC relationship and helping to  ensure full commercial exploitation of the partnership, you will also create a pipeline of potential opportunities and establish new commercial relationships with selected global partners.

Key responsibilities:

You will play a key role in the strategic planning and execution of Stars Group brands’ plans to leverage Global Partnerships. You will work with various internal stakeholders to identify a pipeline of potential valuable global partners with whom to collaborate in order to reach new audiences and open up new customer segments. You will establish relationships with identified global partners and develop the mutually beneficial business case to ensure buy in from Stars Group and partner organisations.

As part of your role, you will participate in the negotiation of commercial terms working closely with relevant internal stakeholders, including other Group Marketing functions, product verticals, legal, finance and business development, working closely with internal strategy owners legal resources. You will handle the day to day relationship with the UFC, overseeing the broad programme of work to ensure full commercial exploitation of the partnership.

Working closely with Poker, Casino and Group Marketing teams to drive marketing metrics and commercial performance of UFC products and initiatives including UFC SAG and KO poker, UFC casino slots, cross vertical campaigns, Stars Rewards, VIP, merchandising and talent. In conjunction with Commercial Director, CMO & UFC teams develop the business case to become UFC’s globally exclusive sports wagering partner. You will oversee the development of partner level P&Ls with full support from FP&A and BI. Utilise partner P&Ls to communicate with Stars Group executives and across the wider business the value of global partnerships. You will collaborate closely with FP&A and BI, build and handle the relevant budgetary requirements for each of the brands and in partnership with relevant budget owners.

You will develop Global Partnerships departmental processes and structure to ensure close alignment with all business stakeholders and establish departmental governance procedures to ensure compliance with all appropriate internal and external legal and commercial processes. You will ensure workflow and requests are carried out by the team to best service the organisation and all department contracts and payments processes are adhered to and in line with policy. Handling relationships with ambassadors and their representatives to ensure maximum output throughout the term of each partner agreement.

Who are we looking for:

We are looking for an individual with relevant international commercial leadership experience including demonstrable success in managing partner relationships to significant commercial benefit for both parties. You will be able to identify and open up new commercial relationships, from first contact through all stages of the “sales” process to partner launch.

You should have experience successfully working with high-profile partner programmes, professional athletes, entertainers and/or celebrities on multi-million dollar contracts. You will need a demonstrable programme management skills and experience to create and effectively handle multi-million dollar budgets.

You should have effective communication skills and be credible to manage with authority with multiple audiences, including celebrities, agents, executives and media. You will have a minimum 5 years of professional experience handling partnerships, projects, contracts, events, budgets and people as well as a passion for, and demonstrable knowledge of, various games, sports, brands, their history and their personalities.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

Knowledge of the e-gaming industry and Stars Group markets and future challenges.
