Job Description

Working with the Group’s legal team, and reporting into the Group’s senior legal commercial team, this position will provide legal support, and have responsibly, for a wide variety of legal commercial matters across the Group, within the UK and internationally.

The Commercial Legal Counsel will work directly with the Group’s internal business personnel and external counsel (where appropriate) to draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and corporate agreements including, but not limited to, media, marketing, platform and other software agreements, IP/brand licensing, sponsorship, endorsement, live event, group company, joint venture and M&A agreements. The position sits within a growing legal team that will provide excellent opportunities for career progression as the business and team grows. 

The position will be based in London office.

Key Responsibilities

Working under the guidance and direction from the Director of Legal affairs the Commercial Legal counsel will:

  • Provide first class legal advice to all Group departments requiring legal advice on commercial and corporate issues
  • Working within agreed guidelines and framework: draft, review and negotiate commercial and corporate contracts and documents
  • Assist with the updating of in-house commercial and corporate precedents
  • Facilitate through to completion all stages of commercial agreements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third party law firms and internal business personnel
  • Work closely with marketing and finance teams to provide legal direction and advice, appropriately balancing risk and reward of projects
  • Contribute to review and improvement of processes on ongoing basis
Skills and Capabilities


  • Qualified Lawyer in the UK
  • A minimum of 2-3 years PQE in private practice or in-house at an e-commerce or digital media company
  • Proven commercial drafting, review and negotiation expertise in respect of a wide range commercial and corporate documents
  • Excellent professional written skills with first class attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to lead complicated projects with senior level stakeholders
  • High levels of self-motivation, ability to work autonomously and manage own work load


  • Experience with internet gaming, whether in-house or in private practice
  • Experience in law in multiple jurisdictions
