Job Purpose

The Intern programme launched in 2015 and, after four successful years with high demand, we’re going to be back, bigger and better for 2019 with an Audit Internship up for grabs in our Internal Security team.

As our Audit Intern you will work within the wider Internal Audit function based on the Isle of Man (Teams include: Internal Audit, Internal Security and Player Advocacy), assisting with the planning and execution of departmental workloads. You will have hands on involvement in delivering internal security fraud monitoring, internal audit fieldwork, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance testing as well as working on special projects. Investigations and player advocacy projects will also be required. 

We have designed this programme with you, the student, at the heart of everything, ensuring you gain maximum exposure and experience throughout the twelve-month placement, something not all placements can offer.

Key Responsibilities
Internal Security (est. 75%)

  • Assist team in execution of detailed daily & weekly anti-fraud transaction monitoring
  • Learn functions and reports in the back office gaming software
  • Administrative assistance, database cleansing, record checks etc.
  • Assist on internal security project execution and investigations
  • Ad hoc projects, tasks and assignments for the Internal Security Manager

Internal Audit (est. 20%)

  • Work on internal audit projects the under guidance of a qualified internal audit manager
  • Flowcharting, procedure and internal controls documentation preparation and checking
  • Design, execution, and documentation of internal controls compliance testing and substantive transaction testing, and gathering of related audit evidence
  • SOX compliance testing, assisting the Company’s Internal Controls (SOX) team
  • Ad hoc audit projects, tasks and assignments

Global Player Advocate (est. 5%)

  • Assist with projects, case reviews and business intelligence as required

Special Project – to be agreed with successful candidate

Skills and Capabilities

  • Current second year university student studying an honours degree requiring a sandwich placement
  • Strong academic proficiency and results to date
  • Highest integrity, honesty, confidentiality, common-sense and self-awareness
  • Keen eye for detail, tenacity and dedication to quality
  • Bright, enquiring mind and a strong desire for getting things right
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools and aptitude for computer based work


  • Knowledge of auditing principles and objectives, accounting, flowcharting and process mapping
  • Management, Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics related degree disciplines; however engaged candidates from any discipline with excellent academic achievements are encouraged to apply
