Why we need you: -
Working under the direction of the Group’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and serving as a senior member of the technology team you will lead a distributed I.T. organization providing services within the Stars Group. You will develop a corporate I.T. infrastructure and services, define their vision and strategy, leading their implementation, ensuring use of best practice operations for all services to maximize results, including; customer satisfaction, response times, forecasts, utilization rates, interpersonal structure, and costs. You will provide leadership, direction and guidance to all areas of I.T services including management of internal systems, network, intranet, internal applications and helpdesk support. You will be an experienced leader and developer of highly effective professionals and managers with an ability inspire and motivate. This position requires close coordination and strong working relationships with group and regional executives.
The main objective is the leveraging of technologies and internal stakeholders to achieve agreed service levels, and of providing high standards of service to internal users of corporate systems and company devices. Also, you will be responsible for leading the organization through performance and process improvement, and setting overall budget and strategic direction. You will partner with IT peer organizations and business leaders to lead and continuously improve Technical Services Operations to keep up with technological innovations and operational improvements.

You will be developing a focused, solution-orientated approach for the global corporate IT operations to align with industry best practices, leading a team of I.T. professionals located globally. Partnering with regional executives and I.T. leadership counterparts to develop and design strategic plans to align on I.T. processes, systems and ways of working that demonstrate the strengths of local teams to deliver a higher level of efficiency and service for TSG employees.
Be a Change Agent through organizational communication and motivation to continuously improve the technology department: instil both customer satisfaction and financial accountability at the level of each team member through strong process discipline of implementation, deployment and support.
You will be establishing a culture of innovation and improvement, always challenging the team to find new ways to improve the customer experience and drive improved business performance. You will position and prepare the technology services organization for scalable growth – architecture, development, infrastructure, people, processes, etc. along with building strong working relationship with division/regional/corporate peers, particularly those in Engineering across TSG and SBG, to ensure alignment on daily operations and strategic initiatives to achieve common business goals.
You will be participating as a member of the leadership team in establishing governance processes of direction and control to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are handled appropriately, and the organization’s resources are used responsibly. You will be developing the departmental management team, building their capabilities as individuals and as a team, and preparing future leaders for additional responsibilities.
You will be agreeing Service Level Agreements across all systems and organizations along with identifying IT department priorities and ensure resulting objectives are met in accordance with established timelines or deadlines. You’ll be using industry-standard key performance indicators to continuously evaluate service value; use quality, cost, and customer satisfaction metrics to deliver the agreed upon level of service. You will identify root cause for outages, service level interruptions and defects along with develop remediation plans to resolve issues.
You’ll be working with the InfoSec team to align on security policies and requirements along with optimizing performance of current operational procedures and collaborating with team members to ensure consistency of delivery, alignment to standard practices, and continuous improvement.
Some global travel required as necessary.
As the ideal candidate, you will have: -
You’ll have extensive experience within IT infrastructure/operations along with professional experience in senior IT operations management positions, with preference to leading corporate IT within large international organizations. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent knowledge is meaningful as is extensive knowledge of infrastructure planning and operations, design and deployment, and system lifecycle management.
Experience with MS Windows domains, MS Exchange, information security and virtualization along with global vendor outsourcing models, including cloud and other managed services. You will demonstrate knowledge of current and emerging technology, technology directions and strategic application to business needs.
Excellent project management skills, including ability to effectively deploy resources and lead multiple projects of diverse scope in a multi-functional environment and have a good eye for business in managing budgets and costs, developing business cases, and delivering cost effective solutions.
The ability to think strategically is important as is culture building competencies, attention to detail and strong responsibility and accountability skills. You’ll be motivating teams to produce quality solutions within defined timeframes and simultaneously run several projects. You’ll need excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capability to clearly communicate ideas at all levels to achieve the required results along with the ability to work under stress within tight timeframes and deadlines
