The Role: Assistant VAT Manager

Why we need you:

The role of the Assistant VAT Manager is predominately a compliance role, but with growing opportunities to assist with technical projects and VAT audits as automation is implemented. Working to the Group Senior VAT Manager you will ensure that all VAT compliance obligations are met across several different jurisdictions in an efficient and timely manner. Preparing or reviewing returns, liaising with advisors and making sure that the Group is up to date from a VAT perspective. 

Expect duties to include the following:

VAT compliance for the Group ensuring filing and payment obligations are met on time.

Preparation of VAT returns in several jurisdictions, working with accountants/advisors in foreign jurisdictions.

Assisting in UK and International VAT technical projects and leading a critical project to automate the VAT compliance process.

Responding to general VAT queries across the business supported by the Group Senior VAT Manager.

Maintaining and establishing SOX compliant procedures and controls for VAT, making suggestions for improvements and ensuring all supporting documentation is produced.

Assisting in the completion of VAT Audits and dealing with other ad hoc queries from Tax Authorities

Who are we looking for:

As an investor in our people, we will provide you with comprehensive training course specifically tailored to aid you in your new job as a Assistant VAT Manager! All we ask is that you meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of an accounting or tax qualification (AAT/ACA/CA/ACCA/ATT/CTA)
  • Previous experience in a VAT role
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills with particular focus on formulas
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Ability to deliver high quality work driven by time pressured external deadlines
  • Team player who is able to work independently, as part of an international team, with excellent interpersonal skills


  • Awareness of the gaming industry
  • Good accounting knowledge
  • Prior reporting experience
